The Reithalle in Munich

The Reithalle

Commencing with Peter Stein´s celebrated inaugural production of “ORESTIE” in the autumn of 1994, HAHN PRODUKTION has been running the Reithalle as its own venue for events in Munich up to the present day, the project being planned to continue over the period of 20 years.

The over 100-years-old listed building was renovated at HAHN PRODUKTION`s own expense, enabling the presentation of cultural events of all genres.

Following Peter Stein came further great directors from the theatre world: Peter Brook with his production of “THE MAN WHO” and Patrice Chéreau with “DANS LA SOLITUDE DES CHAMPS DE COTON”. Both of these productions were highly acclaimed by public and press alike, the Reithalle hence being well and truly recognised as a venue for first-class theatre. This high reputation was continued with the Royal Shakespeare Company’s appearance with “BECKETT SHORTS”.

Experimental theatre is also well represented, with productions by several directors from Munich: Alexej Sagerer and Eos Schopohl, and also by the composer Helga Pogatschar.

Due to these and sundry other events, the Reithalle is well-recognised as an important theatre venue in Munich. It is hard to imagine the city without it.
